Karishma and Prashant vowed to spend the rest of their lives together in front of their loved ones at the picturesque Allely Estate. The photos from their special day capture the couple beaming with joy, their smiles radiating love and happiness as they celebrated their unforgettable moment.
Karishma is an absolute vision in Shasta by Sottero & Midgley—an exquisite, beaded fairytale ball gown with shimmering glitter tulle. The gown's sweetheart corset bodice, adorned with delicate beaded lace motifs, added an enchanting touch. Karishma chose the lined version of the gown, which is also available in an unlined option. With its intricate details and timeless elegance, this gown was truly a perfect match for her.
We hope you enjoy reliving their beautiful wedding day through these photos as much as we did. Congratulations to the happy couple! x
What was it that made this particular wedding dress catch your eye and fall in love?
Funnily enough, I was not going for that look at all. However, when I saw that gown while I was walking around, I figured it was a bit more out of my comfort zone and would probably be a bit too much for me, but what was the harm in trying it on? When I tried it on, I was so surprised at how beautiful I felt in that dress, and more than anything, I had that 'I’m a bride' moment and just had a good feeling. I went to a couple of other places after to get a feel for the other dresses, but each time, I kept comparing them to the dress I tried on at Astra, and then I knew I had to go back and get it. The sparkles, the corset design, and the shape of the dress were everything to me. And when I was told this dress could be lined in the bodice, I was even more sold on it.
Tell us about your search for the dress and the experience at Astra Bridal.
Astra was the first place I went to. A friend of mine bought her dress there, and when I went with her to Astra, she had Ilyese, who helped her out. She made that experience so fun and easy that I knew I’d want to go there. My experience was also similar, with Ilyese making me feel very comfortable and as excited as I was about the dresses.
Tell us your story, how you both met, and the proposal.
We met through mutual friends, and those friends are also my husband’s cousins. We met at a games night and didn’t take much notice of each other, but the second time we met, we knew there was something we had to pursue. We went on our first unofficial date, which was one of my best days. We did two beautiful walks in Piha and basically spent all day together. Then, when we had our official date, which lasted almost 9 hours, it was amazing. We were actually doing long distance for a year, as he is from Wellington, and this was during Covid times, so that made it even harder.
The proposal was a dream and happened in Bali at a beautiful resort in Uluwatu. I was in complete awe when it happened—I did not expect a ring, that’s for sure. He had gone all out and even had a photographer capture the special moment.
What was your favourite part of the day?
My favourite part of the day was at the end of the night when we were dancing with everyone, surrounded by our favourite people, and also just me and him enjoying each other’s presence as husband and wife.
Tell us about your wedding day as a whole.
The whole day was perfect. The weather was nice and sunny (which was good since our ceremony was outside), getting ready with my makeup artist was a breeze—she knew exactly what to do, and I knew she’d do a perfect job. When I had the dress on after having my hair and makeup done, I was in awe. It was so nice to see it all come together. We did a first look, and my husband’s reaction was priceless. I don’t think he expected to see me in a dress like that. The ceremony was beautiful as we said our vows, and we are not the type of people who say many sentimental things to each other, but those vows were so lovely and so us. I could not have thought of a better way our day could’ve gone.
Finally, what is your biggest piece of advice for brides to be?
Surround yourself with a good bunch of friends who will be there for anything, and really take in the day because all that long planning will be over in a day—and so fast.
