Rosy and Barry promised to spend the rest of their lives together in front of friends and family at the charming and chic Foxglove. Their day was filled with lots of happiness and love. The charming city backdrops looks amazing in their photos and perfectly matches the modern elements of Rosy's dress.
Rosy wowed in Alexandria by Rebecca Ingram, a bold and whimsical A-line dress with dreamy tulle sleeves. This black wedding dress features a gorgeous floral and leaf lace covered bodice and a sparkle layer in the tulle skirt, a detail which adds an extra dash of glitz and glam. She paired her gown with the matching Alexandria Veil, a touch that completes her look.
We hope you enjoy scrolling through their day as much as we do!
What was it that made this particular wedding dress catch your eye and fall in love?
Being an older bride, I didn't really want to wear white and the dress was perfect. I felt like a fairy princess.
Tell us about your search for the dress and the experience at Astra Bridal.
Astral Bridal were amazing. Their dresses are amazing and the experience was lovely. I went with my 3 bridesmaids and the mother of the groom, who is an angel.
Tell us your story, how you both met, and the proposal.
Barry and I met when I was 15 and Barry was 22. We had similar friends and interests. We both liked each other at first sight as we have later found out, but we were both committed to others and I was pretty shy.
We carried on with life and I rang him for comfort on the 20th of June as I had recently lost my partner. We talked for over an hour and arranged to meet the next night, and that was basically it.
Barry asked me to marry him at home in the lounge on one knee with a ring and we went to Oterga seafood restaurant for dinner. It was amazing. I never thought I would get married, but Barry is truly my soulmate.
What was your favourite part of the day?
My favourite part of the day was walking down the
aisle and seeing Barry waiting for me.
Tell us about your wedding day as a whole.
We wanted it on the 17th June as that was a few days before our anniversary, also being premenopausal, the cooler weather was preferred. We looked at a few venues but the Foxglove and its location was perfect for us. My late father always stayed at the Intercontinental, so that was the accommodation sorted for the wedding party and guests for a couple of nights.
We had a rehearsal for the wedding on the 16th of June and went out for dinner at Dockside, which was lovely. About 35 of us attended the wedding party and a few family members from afar. The wedding day was great. We spent the night together and I left our room at 7am to go to the president's suite to be with the mums, flower girls, and bridesmaids. Alicia had everything run like clockwork, so I had no stress at all. It was an amazing experience. I loved it.
Finally, what is your biggest piece of advice for brides to be?
It all goes so quickly - all that planning into
one day. You just have to enjoy every moment
