Ricarda and Ettiene met nine years ago at a friends birthday party - shortly after they went on a holiday with friends where Ettiene asked Ricarda to be his girlfriend! Six years later they immigrated to New Zealand. Much to Ricarda’s surprise, Ettiene was able to pull off a beautiful proposal plan without her knowledge of it happening. At the Sculptureum in Matakana Ettiene got down on one knee with a bespoke engagement ring!
Ricarda wore the Nikki by Maggie Sottero, “After trying on 43 different wedding dresses (in one day, might I add) I was still no closer to finding THE wedding dress so I contacted my stylist at Astra Bridal and she pulled a couple more dresses in the particular silhouette I preferred. When I finally got into Nikki by Maggie Sottero, I fell in love with its stunning mermaid shape silhouette, beaded lace detail and the somewhat plunging neckline. These features made it stand out from the many others I had tried previously and made the gown so unique. Having the removable sleeves was the ultimate bonus. I had some alterations made to the sleeves and train/veil to make it all the more unique”.
Choosing to have a intimate elopement, Ricarda and Ettiene embraced every moment. After a scrumptious breakfast in bed, the two got ready together before Ettiene walked down to the Chapel and Ricarda got into her wedding gown. With families joining on zoom they had a beautiful ceremony before heading off in a helicopter to take bridal photos at Cecil Peak! Congratulations Ricarda and Ettiene
