On a beautiful blue skied summer day, Kura and Aitamai said "I Do" in front of all their loved ones at The Lodge Pauatahanui. Their day was filled with lots of love, fun and happiness, which can be seen in all their gorgeous photos.
Kura stunned in Dover by Maggie Sottero, a romantic fit and flare with a sweetheart neckline and all over geometric lace. The lace pattern is perfect for creating waist definition and the way this gown hugs the body is amazing. She also paired her gown with our Cut Edge Veil, a simple touch that completes her look.

What was it that made this particular wedding dress catch your eye and fall in love?
I could instantly see myself standing next to Aitamai in
this beautiful dress. I knew that it was something that I would not regret
wearing!
Tell us about your search for the dress and the experience at Astra Bridal.
I'd just had my son who 11 weeks old and I was expecting
another baby. I was super nervous being pregnant while choosing my dress, not knowing
if it would still fit me after I had my baby. However, the lovely Kryslin made
everything easy for me. She literally did everything to make sure my dress
would still fit after I had my baby. I was confident in trusting every bit of
advice that Kryslin gave me.
Tell us your story, how you both met, and the proposal.
I met Aitamai at a concert. He was a solo dad with two beautiful girls. I instantly fell in love with Aitamai. His smile lit up my whole entire world from the first time I ever met him. He was everything I had ever dreamt of. We now have three kids of our own. Our growing whanau of now 7.
Aitamai proposed to me in Queenstown at the top of the Skyline, right before we had our son. It was perfect. I remember wanting to go to the gift shop inside the Skyline to get my kids a teddy bear, and Aitamai rushed me outside and kept asking me to record the view. I remember telling him I don’t want to record the view anymore. As I turned around, he was on one knee and asked me “Will you marry me?” I still tear up thinking of that day. Aitamai had already asked my parents if he could take my hand in marriage. I couldn’t think of anyone more perfect to marry.
What was your favourite part of the day?
Saying I DO to my husband!
Tell us about your wedding day as a whole.
My day felt like a fairytale. It was the most magical
day. I loved walking down the aisle to Aitamai. He was crying and so was I, but there was nothing but happiness in the air. All the nerves were finally gone when
I saw him. From start to finish, my day was everything I wanted and more. I
would marry Aitamai again and again if I could.
Finally, what is your biggest piece of advice for brides to be?
Enjoy the process, document everything and smile!! Do what
makes you happy, it’s your day. You only do it once so do it your way. Take the
whole day in, it goes by so fast!!
