Davina and Aayush tied the knot at the picturesque Markovina Vineyard Estate, surrounded by friends and family. Their day was filled with joy and laughter as the lovely couple celebrated their special moment together.
Davina looked stunning in Coventry June gown by Forget Me Knot, a whimsical organza A-line dress featuring a ruched sweetheart bodice and dreamy off the shoulder puffed sleeves. The subtle slit in the gown added a touch of elegance, allowing her to move and dance the night away with ease. She also paired her gown with our gold leaf belt, an accessory that adds a hint of shimmer.
We hope you enjoy scrolling through their beautiful day as much as we do!
What was it that made this particular wedding dress catch your eye and fall in love?
Besides just completely falling in love with it, the dress was super light and functional. I wear a continuous glucose monitor patch on the back of my arm, and the sleeves covered and protected it perfectly. The subtle slit on the dress allowed me to administer my insulin easily and discreetly throughout the day.
Tell us about your search for the dress and the experience at Astra Bridal.
Everyone at Astra Bridal were so lovely and made me, a plus size bride, feel so comfortable and relaxed in store. There were also so many beautiful options for me to choose from that I had a hard time even picking what style of dress to select. Chrissy and the team were awesome; they made the whole process very easy and relatable.
Tell us your story, how you both met, and the proposal.
It's very cliché, but we met at work - the classic story of starting off as work colleague, then friends, and eventually our relationship grew into something more. Eventually, we discussed getting married and what our future together would look like. We went to buy the rings we both wanted and waited for a time that would be special for us, to 'make it official.'
What was your favourite part of the day?
It is so hard to pick; the whole day was a mix of new experiences and special moments. A few favourite parts were the surprise beatbox performance from my nephew, toasting with my brides and 'bro maid,' and the special moment we shared alone right before we were announced into the reception space - a moment just for us.
Tell us about your wedding day as a whole.
We were lucky with the weather for most of the day. During the ceremony, we did have some rain clouds overhead, but we were lucky they held out until the end (when we donned our umbrellas for the exit march). Then, as quickly as it came, it left, and the rest of the evening was perfect. Don’t they say it’s good luck if it rains on your wedding day? :)
Finally, what is your biggest piece of advice for brides to be?
Just enjoy all the little moments and don’t sweat the small stuff. Your guests won’t know if something doesn’t go exactly as planned; as long as you’re having fun, they will be having fun. Also, plan your wedding however you want it, not based on what others want or expect. It’s you and your special person's day. If you don’t want to do a first dance, skip it. If you don’t want speeches, scrap them. While weddings are a special event, the whole process should bring you more happiness than stress!
