Danielle shined in Rousseau by Maggie Sottero, a charming A-line gown with a floral lace motif covering the bodice and extending down into the tulle skirt. The sequins decorating the lace adds an extra touch of sparkle and she completed her look with our Mantilla Veil, an accessory that perfectly compliments her gown.

What was it that made this particular wedding dress catch your eye and fall in love?
I absolutely loved the lace pattern on it, the light blush colour and the shape of the dress was perfect, everything I always wanted. I was also obsessed with the lace by the bust line. Absolutely stunning!
Tell us about your search for the dress and the experience at Astra Bridal.
The search for my dress wasn’t a very long one. The dress I ended up with was one of the first ones I tried on and I loved it, but I wanted to be sure so I tried a couple other stores and nothing compared. The experience at Astra Bridal was absolutely amazing, the ladies were so welcoming and made me feel so comfortable. They were super helpful with anything I needed. I can’t recommend Astra Bridal more! It made my wedding dress experience everything I had dreamt of.
Tell us your story, how you both met, and the proposal.
Dewald and I met on Tinder back in 2019. He came around to watch movies, but we just stayed up talking all night. It felt so easy. He proposed to me on Whangamata beach at sunset with our close friends there and they were all in on it. It was beyond perfect. He was so nervous and with tears in his eyes, he got down on one knee and asked me if I would marry him. I had no idea. I was completely shocked and filled with joy.
What was your favourite part of the day?
I have two favourite parts. One of them was the first look with my Dad, that was such a special moment I will never forget. The other is definitely walking down the isle and seeing Dewald with a big smile and tears on his face.
Tell us about your wedding day as a whole.
Funny story, our wedding was actually the day before the hurricane hit so there was a bit of rain in the morning, which was definitely a worry as our wedding was outside. Luckily it cleared up by the time guests started arriving but the wind definitely picked up later in the evening, the marquee held well though thankful haha! Getting ready was so much fun, all us girls having a couple of wines and playing music. It was great! The ceremony and reception was just perfect. Everything was so beautiful and went according to plan.
Finally, what is your biggest piece of advice for brides to be?
Relax and enjoy the journey because it is all over before you know it. Plan ahead of time so your not stressed close to the big day and lastly my biggest piece of advice would have to be to go to Astra Bridal Hamilton for your wedding dress!
