Courtney and Sebastian
Courtney wowed in Bombay by Forget Me Knot, an elegant satin A-line with a romantic off shoulder band. The illusion filled V detail at the front of the bodice adds a touch of uniqueness to this simplistic gown. She paired her gown with our Lavinia veil, a breath taking cut edge veil with gorgeous blush florals. The perfect accessory that compliments the other elements of her day. She also wore our White Heart Sunglasses, a fun accessory for photos.
So have a scroll through their day, gather some inspo and insight, and enjoy!
What was it that made this particular wedding dress catch your eye and fall in love?
The
dress I chose actually wasn’t my choice. My stylist, Elysia, chose it for me. I thought it wasn’t my vibe and then I put it on and a cried happy tears and I
knew it was my dress. It’s absolutely timeless. Don’t even get me started on my
veil. My veil was eye catching and people are talking about it even to this
day. My dress and the veil were a match made in heaven and I’m so glad the
girls showed it to me
Tell us about your search for the dress and the experience at Astra Bridal.
My
experience at Astra was just amazing. The girls were so welcoming and bubbly.
Being a curvy girl, I was worried about the range for myself but oh my goodness.
There was so many options for me to choose from and I felt like a princess in
all of them.
Tell us your story, how you both met, and the proposal.
We actually met online. We had spoken for about a week and then we had our first date on Valentine’s Day. The night ended in a walk up Mount Wellington and late night conversations under the stars. Once I met him, everything fell into place and everything made sense. I fell for him so beautifully and I couldn’t see my life without him in it.
The proposal was magically and everything I could have ever wanted. He set up this gorgeous picnic on the beach with wine and flowers and popped the question there. It was absolutely beautiful and I cried so much.
What was your favourite part of the day?
Getting
married to Sebastian obviously haha, but I loved seeing everyone we love in the
same room to celebrate our love. It was a very beautiful and emotional day.
Tell us about your wedding day as a whole.
The
whole day was magical. The weather was absolutely perfect, not a cloud in
sight. Getting ready was so exciting. Sebastian even came to the grass patch
outside my balcony holding up a boom box speaker playing “Yellow” by Coldplay
and I burst into tears. It was the most beautiful moment that I got to share
with him. The ceremony was amazing. It was all a blur as it all happened so
quickly. I was so emotional but I have my wedding video which I play on
repeat. We then had about 10 minutes to ourselves, to toast to us, and have a
moment to soak it all in. The reception was incredible. The love in the room
was outstanding and we definitely boogied into the night. Hands down one of the
most amazing nights of my life.
Finally, what is your biggest piece of advice for brides to be?
It’s easier said than done, but don’t stress about the little things on the day. The most important thing is marrying your gorgeous partner and everything else will fall into place. What will be will be. Soak in every moment and have the time of your life x
