Amber and Cam tied the knot in front of friends and family at the whimsical Black Walnut. Photos of the day show the couple enjoying their big day together surrounded by their loved ones. Their day was filled with love, joy, and smiles. The enchanting venue perfectly complemented Amber's dreamy gown.
Amber shined in 'Anniston' by Maggie Sottero, a shimmering glitter tulle ball gown with a sweetheart ruched bodice and covered buttons trailing down to the bottom of the train. She accessorised her gown with our 'Harriet' veil, a stunning English net tulle veil adorned with pearls.

What was it that made this particular wedding dress catch your eye and fall in love?
The sparkle! Plus, the way it made me feel while wearing it. I went in really wanting a dress with lace, but when I saw my dress on a mannequin, I thought, why not try it on? It was beautiful! As soon as I put it on, I knew this was the dress for me. It made me feel beautiful, and I could really see myself wearing it for our big day. It was perfect. I was so surprised that I left with a dress completely opposite of what I wanted, but it was 100% the best decision!
Tell us about your search for the dress and the experience at Astra Bridal.
I was so nervous about dress shopping. I was worried I wouldn't find a dress that made me feel beautiful or comfortable. A friend recommended Astra Bridal to me, so I booked right away. Khym was absolutely wonderful! She called me to talk through the ins and outs of the first appointment. When I arrived, I felt at ease the moment I met her. She was so friendly and smiley, and I'm genuinely thankful to have her by my side throughout my dress journey. Khym made the experience so special for me. She made me feel comfortable, and made everything stress free and super fun. I can't thank her enough!
Tell us your story, how you both met, and the proposal.
Cam and I met at a restaurant in 2011 and we were friends for a while before we started dating. We had our first daughter in 2014, our son in 2016, and our youngest daughter in 2021. After 10 years together, Cam finally popped the question on Christmas Day, 2022. He hid a little box behind the Christmas tree and proposed with our little ones watching. It was a very special morning for everyone, especially our eldest daughter, Harper, who had dreamed of us getting married, “so mum could have the same name as us” for such a long time!
What was your favourite part of the day?
The whole day was just perfect! I couldn’t have asked for a more wonderful day. Our two eldest children were old enough to be our witnesses and they signed our marriage certificate, so that was very special. If I could do it all again, I wouldn’t change a thing! Well, maybe the rain, but it really didn’t spoil our day at all!
Tell us about your wedding day as a whole.
Our wedding day was wonderful! It really was the most perfect day! Just like everyone says, it goes by so quickly! The morning of the wedding was lovely; we had all our family getting ready together. The boys all got ready with Cam and the girls got ready with me. It was a very family oriented day. The weather wasn't the best. It rained all day and as much as I was a little upset to start with, it really didn't affect our day at all! I married my best friend, so how could the day not be perfect?! Plus, I've heard rain is meant to be good luck!
Our venue had accommodation on site, which was so great. Hair and makeup arrived around 8am, and the day began with relaxed vibes and lots of laughter. Our ceremony was beautiful; we wrote our own vows, which made it very personal and special to us. Our celebrant was amazing too; she made us feel so relaxed and looked after! Our two eldest children signing the marriage license as our witnesses was such a special moment that we will cherish forever.
We then took photos with our family and bridal party while the rest of the wedding guests enjoyed the open bar and canapés. Our photographer did a wonderful job taking our family photos. We had 3 kiddies running around, so it was not always easy! We got some gorgeous shots from throughout the day and we will cherish these memories for a lifetime. Then it was time for dinner; the food was delicious and it was so nice to be able to hang out with all our guests. After cutting our cake and the first dance, the party began! Our day was filled with so much love; it was perfect.
Finally, what is your biggest piece of advice for brides to be?
Try and enjoy the planning process as much as you can. It is so fun, so try to not worry about the little things and just enjoy the planning process. Everything will fall into place on the day and those little things you were worrying about will all be fine! The day goes so quickly, so try and take a moment every now and then to really take it in! Just remember that you're marrying your best friend and that's all that really matters! <3
