Michelle and Tim promised to spend the rest of their lives together in front of their nearest and dearest at Markovina Vineyard Estate. Their day was filled with lots of love and happiness. Photos show the gorgeous couple surrounded by their loved ones and celebrating their big day.

Michelle mesmerised in Carlotta by Jenny Yoo, a beautiful luxe taffeta A-line gown with a V-neckline. The illusion back adds a hint of modern sexiness and the addition of pockets to this elegant and classic gown is a lovely touch. She paired her gown with our Harriet veil, an accessory that perfectly compliments her gown and adds that dash of shimmer.

We hope you enjoy scrolling through their day as much as we do!

What was it that made this particular wedding dress catch your eye and fall in love?

I had previously tried on a lot of lacey dresses, but as soon as I tried on a plain silk gown, I knew it was more me and more the look I was going for. As soon as Courtney (my Astra stylist) saw that I liked plain silk gowns, she picked Carlotta out for me to try and I said yes to the dress! Courtney was so helpful with listening to what I liked and didn’t like, and she even ordered different dresses into the store for me to try just to make sure Carlotta was the best dress for me.

Tell us about your search for the dress and the experience at Astra Bridal.

I started looking for a dress 6 months before the wedding date. I soon realised that this isn’t long enough because most dresses come from overseas and take at least 6 months to arrive! Astra Bridal was so accommodating because they had such a large variety of dresses, which could be ordered within this timeframe.

Tell us your story, how you both met, and the proposal.

Tim and I first met just over 5 years ago at a bar in Ponsonby and we have been inseparable ever since! 2 years later, while we were visiting my mum at my childhood home, Tim popped the question in the backyard beneath the avocado tree. It was really special because my late dad planted the tree and I also had absolutely no idea he was going to propose. It was so nice to be able to celebrate with my mum over the weekend.

What was your favourite part of the day?

Having all of our family and friends together in one place for such a happy occasion. It is the only time it will ever happen, so it is priceless

Tell us about your wedding day as a whole.

We planned our wedding day to be in early September, which is the off-season, so that we could have the vendors that we wanted and it was also more cost effective. We were so lucky because the day we chose turned out to be such a beautiful sunny day anyway.

All of our vendors were very experienced in the wedding industry and because of this I can honestly say that the day flowed perfectly. Tim and I were able to relax knowing everything was taken care of.

Finally, what is your biggest piece of advice for brides to be?

Take time to plan out exactly what you both want because this is your one big day. Research all vendors well by reading reviews and meet them in person if you can.

If your wedding is planned well and you have chosen experienced vendors, then you will be able to relax and enjoy your day by spending time with those closest to you.
